Myth: I need to eat animal meat or I’ll get sick.

MYTH-BUSTER: Hm, when was the last time anybody got a heart attack eating apples and dates? (For scientific proof vegan nutrition is healthy, see The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted and the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss and Long-term Health).

Myth: I won’t get enough protein.

MYTH-BUSTER: Your body makes protein from amino acids. Eating vegetables, beans, grains, nuts, and lentils gives you all the essential amino acids you need.

Myth: But dairy products such as milk, cheese, and yogurt are good sources of calcium.

MYTH-BUSTER: Then osteoporosis shouldn’t be skyrocketing in the U.S. Why is it? Looks like osteoporosis is caused by consuming lots of animal protein–and dairy products are “liquid meat.” So the more animal protein you eat (or drink), the more you actually pee away calcium!

Dark green veggies, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and nuts like almonds are just a few of the many healthy sources rich in calcium…with no side effects.

Myth: People will think I’m weird and uncool.

MYTH-BUSTER: Tell that to hardcore vegan pro skateboarders Ed Templeton and Geoff Rowley.

Myth: It’s too difficult.

MYTH-BUSTER: Change always feels different. So it’s not difficult, but different. A new experience. You’re an explorer. Be fearless. Nobody summits Kilimanjaro in a single day.
